NorComp Unveils Compact MICRO-D Backshell Solutions

We are pleased to introduce NorComp’s MICRO-D Backshells, a rugged, space-saving alternative to conventional D-Sub backshells. 

Optimized for use with the NorComp the 380 & 580-M series connectors, these backshells are designed to provide robust mechanical connections while maintaining shield effectiveness in demanding environments.

NorComp has seen great demand for our MICRO-D Product offering and so we are expanding into offering backshells to match our Industry Leading MILCOTS MICRO-D Offering.

• Die-cast ZAMAK construction for durable performance
• Available in three industry-standard sizes: 9, 15, and 25 positions
• Compatible with most industry micro D-Subs
• 1/3 the size of a standard backshell, perfect for space-constrained applications
• Ensures metal-to-metal interface for strong mechanical connections and superior shielding
• Withstands temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (with grommets) or -40°C to +125°C (without grommets)

The MICRO-D Backshell is an ideal solution for space-restricted environments, including industrial robotics, COTS military applications, and wireless communications. Despite its compact size, it provides the reliability and ruggedness needed for harsh operational conditions.

• Suitable for commercial MILSPEC equivalents for commercial applications - compatible with most MILSPEC MICRO-Ds where backshells do not require MILSPEC certification. 
  
• Kits include two backshell halves, four shell screws, two thumb screws, and one grommet tree for a complete assembly solution
